When developing the new Merino Shield Shell softshell line, ORTOVOX set itself the goal of making high-performance products for high-alpine companies. Features such as robustness, comfort through freedom of movement and breathability were in the foreground. The high proportion of Cordura® in the material mix of the Merino Shield Shell Piz Badile Pants W by ORTOVOX ensures the best abrasion resistance and durability (at least 80,000 abrasion cycles in the Martindale test) and thus offers optimal protection in the field. A lot of freedom of movement is guaranteed by highly elastic Lycra fibers - the material of the pants is stretchable by 20%.

Because ORTOVOX knows how important it is that water vapor can easily escape from the inside to the outside, they rely on a membrane-free construction with the Merino Shield Shell line. So that no water can penetrate from the outside at the same time, the surface of the Merino Shield Shell Piz Badile Pants W from ORTOVOX is DWR treated. Merino wool on the inside also ensures great comfort and an excellent climate.
